ECHOES OF LEGENDS

LEAD LEVEL DESIGNER

Echoes of Legends is an multiplayer-coop action-RPG dungeon crawler up to 4 players who will have to cooperate to become legends.

 

Camera in the third person with semi-realistic fights but which remains dynamic. The class of the character you control is defined by your equipment. A strong craft system is present in the game which justifies the presence of zone in this theme.

WORK HIGHLIGHT

PLANS & CONCEPTUALIZATION : Tutorial

This level is used to introduce the universe and the mechanics of games to the player. It is a medieval town inspired by roman architecture, a very orderly civilization basing all its economy and culture on the forge.

Our intentions were to create an level experience with low difficulty, but with pressure brought by the staging. The level is at first sight linear, but this linearity is broken by an event that forces the player to leave the main axis.

Unity 2018 - Versionning via BitBucket/SourceTree

This level being the first of the game and the first being realized by the team, a joint work with the team design and artist was set up for the determination of the architecture, universe and staging.

Following the conceptualization of the level, come blocking. The first phase of the process set up is determined by the metrics of the environment over the player.

The goal is to learn the basics of mechanical player with several scripted event especially for mouvement mechanics (forward roll , sprint).

There are three hot spots, corresponding to the three groups of enemies. The first to learn basic attacks. The second to discover special enemies and how to avoid their shots. The third and last for the Bossfight phases.

PLANS & CONCEPTUALIZATION  : HUB

EoL is a multiplayer game with up to 4 players, so the HUB must be for up to 4 players. Here all that is important is in the center of the map, everything being accessible in about 30 seconds on circular and transverse axes.
